Santhosa: The Story……

Santhosa is one of the Niyamas as stated by Patanjali in the 8 limbs of yoga. Briefly it means “to live in contentment and not seek to fulfill the desires of the senses continuously“.

Shirani, a qualified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant and Ayurvedic Practitioner, found this concept very appealing to her own philosophy in life – to be wholly contented with what she has. This is also the philosophy that is embedded in all aspects of the practices followed.

Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences, it is difficult to extract one from the other. They are both a spiritual means of discovering oneself and also to treat the body and its senses as the temple of the “Parama Atma” (the supreme soul).

Shirani has spent several years of study both in Ayurveda and Yoga, to get an understanding of bringing together the two sciences and to relate it to all aspects of life.

Through Yoga every effort is made to heal the outer body and align it with the mind and spirit and through Ayurveda all natural herbs and thousands of years of knowledge of healing learnt by the ancient sages through meditation is brought together to heal all kinds of diseases.

Healing diseases of the body is an art, a science and of spirituality that is built upon deep compassion for the suffering of the human being.

With this as the backdrop of Shirani’s practice, it is her absolute pleasure to welcome you into her world of Ayurvedic healing. Its simplicity, diagnostic tools, plan, therapies and consultation process is like none other. She looks forward to having you in her clinic if ever you need treatment for any ailment.
